How is our lil guy halfway to 2?! I'm not going to lie, I already have ideas swirling around for his 2nd birthday party, BUT can we please slow time down. He will be off to school in a blink of an eye! I have to say though, this is by far the most fun age yet. I love hearing his constant chatter as he runs by me, and his love for Cisco melts my heart. They really are like brothers, one is always teasing the other but at the end of the day they are best buds.
Minus a few random days here or there Chase's eating habits are still great. He will eat anything and everything and now will go to the fridge and fruit bowl to let me know he is hungry. His favorite foods are pizza, chicken parm, ravioli, any veggies (always the first thing he eats off of his plate), plums and strawberries. A few weeks ago his figured out how to use a straw and you could tell he was so excited and proud that juice actually came up the straw! With me feeling so nauseous and ice pops settling my stomach, he has by proxy become a huge fan of them also.
There is not an ounce of baby left in this little boy anymore. He follows instructions so well, (well as great as a toddler can) and loves to help me around the house. Whether it's throwing out his diapers (I'm not going to fight him on that one), dusting the furniture or putting food in Cisco's bowl he is right there doing it all with me. I look at it as he will be well trained to help me when the baby comes along. His language is exploding and I can't wait until he is putting together little sentences.
People weren't lying when they told us once he starts walking he wont stop! He chooses to run over walking and is outside any change we get, which with it being March and a terrible winter hasn't been too frequent yet. We have hit up the mall playground a few times and grab lunch at the food court as a treat afterwards. We have been attending storytime and Makin Music at the library every week and he is really enjoying it. Mr. Dan (the music teacher) mesmerizes him and he gets so excited to play with the drumsticks. One of Chase's new fascinations is to watch the birds in the trees. As he eats his breakfast he watches them fly in and out of the trees and hearing him screech in excitement is just wonderful. Anytime he hears a plane or helicopter overhead he runs to the window to see if he can spot it in the sky.
Chase is doing extremely well with his helmet. We are still hoping it will get to come off sometime in May. Overall Chase is still the happy, laid back child he has always been and we are beyond blessed to be his parents. Getting to spend my every day with him and see him grow and learn the way he has is just incredible.
