Chase Patrick: Seven Years

With each birthday that comes, I have a hard time believing you are another year older in such a short amount of time. You are teetering on the edge of becoming a tween and it's so bittersweet to watch. I'm so grateful though that you still love to snuggle everyday, the little boy is still in there and that makes Mummy happy.
This past year with you has been a breeze and such a joy! You've barely had any tantrums, you are the biggest help when I need it the most, we have the best conversations and you have really come out of your shell. You generally still have a quiet and gentle composure about you but more frequently this loud and boisterous side comes out and I absolutely love it! You care so deeply for those around you; both family and friends, always making sure they are thought of and cared for.
You have become extremely witty and have said some classic one liners lately. With all your reading you have been doing your imagination has soared and your stories are very entertaining.
We love you to pieces buddy and couldn't be prouder of you!!

Stats: weight 47lbs (28th %) height 3ft 10 inches (19th %)
Sleep: No surprise here you are still loving your sleep. Now that you are in first grade and gone all day you are exhausted and needing those 12 hour nights.
Social: Every year it amazes me how much you grow in this area. You know dance in public, strike up conversations with people you've never met before and are just more sure of yourself. You are still struggling with some anxiety but we are so proud of how you have adjusted to going to school all day long. Mummy on the other hand, not so much and by 1pm everyday I'm ready for you to be home.
Sports: You are still in karate and earned your first red strip on your white belt over the summer. In the Spring you played baseball for the first time. You did extremely well and had a nice swing, especially being a lefty its hard playing in a right handed world. However once you got smacked in the face by a baseball you desire to play disappeared. However we are going to try it again next Spring and overcome that fear. For the past couple of years you have asked repeatedly to start horseback riding lessons and so this fall you will be starting. I'm so excited for you, and slightly jealous seeing I used to ride and would love to do it along side you.
Diet: Things are looking up. You're appetite has kicked in and you are eating considerably more than you used to. The high calorie diet is still in full effect and it shoes. I can grab your cute cheeks again and your are full of color.  Your favorite foods are chocolate chip pancakes, mac n cheese, tacos, McDonalds, Buffalo Wild Wings and chinese.
School: Let's start by saying you were more prepared for first grade than I was! I held it together getting you on the bus that first day but then cried as soon as the bus pulled away and on the walk home. I felt so lost that first week, not having you by my side all day. We are now a good month into school and while it's getting a little easier I still miss you like crazy and both myself, Asher and Hayley count down until we can get you from the bus stop. You had a rough start getting on the bus but for the most part have gotten comfortable with it thanks to Trace and Ryan. You turned a boy who was picking on you into a friend. You love Mrs Snyder and both have a love for dogs so I couldn't have though of a better teacher for you. You have found your best buds Jax and Oliver out on the playground each day and made lots of new friends in class (Bryce, Jackson, Luna and Nixon).
Favorites: Mummy, Daddy, Chase, Asher, Cisco, country music and your most favorite is Luke Bryan, superheros, legos, Lightning McQueen, reading, movie nights, reading, horses, dogs, Fall Out Boy.
