Birthday Date with Asher

How lucky am I getting two dates in one week?!?! With the most handsome boys around at that! To celebrate Asher's birthday, he and I went bowling, played video games and grabbed Rita's. It was such a fun afternoon spending time with my favorite 4 year old. It was no surprise that Asher was a good bowler, he got a strike and a spare. He is a natural at any kind of sport.
Getting Asher alone, his personality really shines. He is just so animated about everything and gives 100% enthusiasm to all he does. It makes me want to pick hi up and squeeze him, which I do, quite often.
To end his special day we all went out to dinner at Red Robin where we had birthday desert and he was sang to by the staff. I thought I had recorded it, but my phone screwed up. His reaction was the best I've ever seen. He was beyond surprised and shocked and excited all at the same time and it was amazing!

Birthday Date with Chase

With 3 kids, all on different schedules our days are busy and any one on one time with any of the kids is hard to come by, so on their birthday I started a little birthday date tradition and its something that all of us look forward too.

This year Chase decided he wanted he and I to go horseback riding. I was so excited he chose to do this as I used to ride and I miss it and love that he is wanting to learn. We dropped Asher at school and made our way over to Sheeder Mill Farms where they had our horses ready for us. We did a 30 min trail ride through the woods just Chase and I (and our guide). It was wonderful!! The guide gave Chase some pointers on how to sit in the saddle etc and he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
Once we got back to the farm we watched his pony, Precious, get her bath. Within 5 minutes he was asking when he can go again and expressed how he would like to learn to rode on his own and go faster. I think lessons are in his future.

We still had a little time until we had to pick up Asher so we stopped by for a quick stop at Rita's water ice.

Once we were all back home we ended Chase's celebration by a dip in the pool and dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.

It was such a special day, one I will certainly never forget and I hope Chase doesn't either.

Calling all Superheros

Another year, another party!!! I really do get carried away with whatever theme the boys throw at me but they love it and so do I. Asher got to pick the party this year and he wanted Superheros. His current favorite is Captain America and Chase's Spiderman.

So we invited over our family and closest friends to dress up, swing at Pinatas, take a dip in the pool and eat cake. The boys had the BEST time hanging with their friends up in their fort and running around like maniacs. Us adults had fun catching up with everyone, and of course seeing those smiles on our boys faces is worth everything.

James had the idea to surprise the boys with a power wheels as their gift this year. He found an F150 Raptor, the boys love his truck so it really was perfect. Let's just say since their party they have barely been out of the thing. It can go off roading so they drive it up into their fort, Asher drives it to the bus stop to get Chase and then Chase drives home, and of course they put Hayley in the bed of the truck and chauffeur her all over the yard.

Hard to believer we are celebrating 6 & 4 !!!!
