Hello Third Trimester

As the third trimester begins I'm both excited and a little sad. Excited of course to finally meet my little boy and see what he looks like and begin creating a life time of memories with him. On the other hand, I absolutely love feeling him kick and turn and will certainly miss that. The back pain that has started and the vomitting that has returned, will certainly not be missed.

We had  our 28 week appointment today and it went very smoothly. Our doctor said he sounds great, heartrate of 130bpm and she thinks we are looking at a  7 1/2 lb baby. This I am very relieved to hear as big babies run on James' side of the family and was seriously worried about having to pop out a 9+ pounder. I'm up 18 pounds since the beginning of the pregnancy, thank goodness all I crave is fruit. After failing the one hour glucose test, I did have to take the 3 hour one, which I'm happy to report, I passed, so no 'diet' for me. Our baby appointments now will be every 2 weeks.

These last couple of months are going to fly by. We  have so much going on between now and when Chase makes his arrival. I ordered some items off of etsy to finish decorating his room with and will put the finishing touches in place with the help of Leona when she is in town. James and I have taken a few days trip and are planning a weekend away in August, and basically trying to make the most of the time we have left just the two of us. We think Cisco is realizing his time as the 'only child' is coming to an end soon as this past week he has started sleeping on our bed every night.

As always here is a photo of the ever growing bump at 28 weeks

24 weeks

Here I am with another update on our little boy. It's hard to believe I am 24 weeks already, time is certainly flying by! This puts me in the 6th month of the pregnancy and at the tail end of the second trimester.

Our check up this evening went smoothly. My blood pressure and weight are normal (I've gained a total of 14lbs so far) and today was the first time they measured my stomach which is measuring at exactly 24 weeks. Chase was very active and was hard to get a reading on his heart at at first but the doctor got a reading of 138bpm. Over the next 2 weeks I have to go for a glucose test.

I've been feeling really great the past few weeks and have really started getting things ready for Chase's arrival. My brother David came down a couple of weeks ago and painted the nursery for us. We are going with a jungle animal theme so we painted the walls a kakhi color. We also now have a dresser, thanks to Mom and Bill. My Mum has been busy on the other side of the world preparing for her grandson by knitting; she has made him a crib blanket and is now onto hats and mittens :) He is going to be one spoiled boy thats for sure.

With every week that passes I'm so thankful that he is still in there cooking away, and is healthy. Thank you to everyone who prays for us.

Here I am at 24 weeks

Halfway Point

I can't believe that I'm at 20 weeks in this pregnancy already!!!!!!! Tine is just flying by. Though the first 3 months were a complete blur and all I remember are toilet bowls lol. I am very happy to say I'm on day 2 of not having to take my anti nausea medcine :)
I have certainly had a growth spurt over the past 3 weeks. Clothes that did fit, no longer do and I can feel like I've put on weight. So far I've gained 12 pounds so I'm not that worried and everything I've been eating has been extremely healthy. I'm hoping that my craving for fruit continues throughout the pregnancy.
Finding out the gender this week has brought the pregnancy to a whole other level. Knowing I have a son in there versus calling it 'baby' makes that bond even stronger and I cannot wait to meet him!
Here is a pic of me at 20 weeks....

Our lil BOY!!!

After 20 weeks of anticipation we are so excited to learn that we are having a little BOY!!!!
So many of us (including myself) thought it would be a girl, but I am thrilled that we are having a sweet little boy and you can bet he will be mama's boy. The appointment today went perfectly!!! He has all his fingers and toes and every other part that he should have. His face is adorable and we fell in love instantly. He is extremely active, a soccer star in the making. He was kick kick kicking the entire time we  had him on the screen....I think we are going to have our hands full with a very energetic lil man :) The doctor said he is right on track as far as size goes for his due date. They believe he weighs 11oz and his hearbeat was136 BPM.
I have had a very stressful week so I was a little worried about my blood pressure but they said it looks great. Here are some photos of the adorable guy!!!

16 Weeks

It's hard to believe I'm already into my second trimester! Time is just flying by, and Baby P will be here before we know it.

Our last check up went very well. The probe was barely on my stomach and we could hear the heartbeat loud and clear. It's always such a relief to hear that precious sound. The heart rate was 143bpm, which was a little slower than the last appointment but more than normal.

16 weeks

As you can see from the photo my bump is growing! I have been feeling the baby move, which is incredible! Today has been the most active for Baby P yet, or what I've felt anyway.
Thankfully I have been feeling a million times better the past 2 weeks. The throwing up seems to have stopped :) I'm still on my anti-nausea medicine but it's keeping the morning sickness at bay and thats all what matters. Stay tuned for the next update as we will know it's a little boy or girl in there....

Baby P: 12 weeks

We have made it through the first trimester!!!! We are so relieved to be at this stage of the pregnancy; not only because we know the baby has made it through the most critical stage but also because the past 3 months have been rough. Along with the complete exhaustion that every mother to be goes through, I've also had terrible morning sickness - which has landed me in the ER. I've been on medicine since about week 8 and while it does help it has not taken the morning sickness away entirely.

My husband has been amazing throughout this whole period. He has waited on me hand and foot, made sure I'm taking my medicine, does the majority of the laundry and even goes to the grocery store by himself when I can't make it there. He is going to make a wonderful Dad to this little one inside of me.
Me at 7 weeks, you wouldnt know I was pregnant from looking at me.

Me at 12 weeks

At our 12 week appointment we got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time, which words can't describe how I felt. Both of us teared up and I know we could have sat and listened to that sound all day long. The heartbeat is nice and strong 152bpm. Again we both felt very relieved that everything is going well. As you can tell I'm starting to look a little more pregnant, though I feel like I look like I ate too many cookies. Somehow, amongst all of the throwing up I have gained 9 pounds, which amazes me. It makes sense as to why my pants are feeling tight and uncomfortable. Over the next couple weeks I'm going to have to invest in some maternity pants. I am hoping that the morning sickness will start to subside now that the first trimester is over.

Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes and prayers so far in this journey. We both feel very blessed that we are getting to become parents to this little one and I know that we are already excited about meeting him/her.

Family Photos

We had the opportunity to have some family photos taken and of course I jumped at the chance. We even included our little Cisco. Enjoy!
