Hands down it was the best Mother's Day yet. I know I don't have that many to go on but it really was the perfect day with my boys. We have finally hit summer here and so all I wanted to do was to get to a beach and put my toes in the sand, so we did :) We drove to Rehoboth Beach in DE. It's a smaller baech but has a boardwalk with some rides and it's home to Go Brit, the fish and chippy over here. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, was around 80 degrees and a nice breeze to top it off.
After eating a quick lunch it was time to hit the sand! Chase was thrilled to finally put his Mickey Mouse beach tool kit to use that his cousins Jenna and Justin had gotten him from their trip to Disney. He plopped right down in the sand and got to digging, and proceeded to throw the sand everywhere! It took him a while to notice the ocean but once he did there was no stopping him. "me, me me," while pointing at the ocean was on repeat until we got up and took him to see it. If we hadn't been holding his hands he would have ran right in, this kid loves water. We spent about 30 mins jumping the waves and I don't think I have ever seen him so happy. That's what being a Mum is all about right, making your kids happy.
Next up was hitting the rides that Pop Berry had found along the boardwalk. The only thing that made Chase happier than jumping waves was riding the merry go round! Wow you would have thought it was on a real horse with the squeals of excitement escaping his little mouth. Quite possibly the cutest moment I have yet to witness. We also went on the tea cups which spun waaay faster than any teacup I have ever been on, and a driving truck ride. We did attempt to put him no a ride where I couldn't go on, but it wasn't happening. I wasn't even out of the ride gate and he was screaming his head off. It's ok, next summer we will work on that.
We ended the day with a dinner at Go Brit. If you want a taste of a real deal chippy then this place is a must and the 2 1/2 hour drive is totally worth it.
It was such a fun day and I had the best time with the loves of my life, my two boys. It's crazy to think that next year there will be an extra little one tagging along :)

Baby P2 15 Weeks
How far along: 15 weeks
Gender: Still sticking with a boy
Baby's heartbeat: 143bpm
Weight gain: 6lbs so far
Maternity clothes: I'd say wearing maternity stuff 75% of the time, it's just so much more comfy
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: In general pretty crappy. Lots of tossing and turning and cramping that's been keeping me awake
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby move daily
Miss anything: Having an ice cold corona would have been nice on the day it reached 85 degrees
Movement: I feel the baby most days, still little flutters at this point
Cravings: still anything fruit related
Queasy or sick: Still taking the Zofran once a day but feeling a little better in general
Looking forward to: Scheduling out 20 week ultrasound and finding out if we are having a little boy or girl :)

Happy Halfway to 2!
How is our lil guy halfway to 2?! I'm not going to lie, I already have ideas swirling around for his 2nd birthday party, BUT can we please slow time down. He will be off to school in a blink of an eye! I have to say though, this is by far the most fun age yet. I love hearing his constant chatter as he runs by me, and his love for Cisco melts my heart. They really are like brothers, one is always teasing the other but at the end of the day they are best buds.
Minus a few random days here or there Chase's eating habits are still great. He will eat anything and everything and now will go to the fridge and fruit bowl to let me know he is hungry. His favorite foods are pizza, chicken parm, ravioli, any veggies (always the first thing he eats off of his plate), plums and strawberries. A few weeks ago his figured out how to use a straw and you could tell he was so excited and proud that juice actually came up the straw! With me feeling so nauseous and ice pops settling my stomach, he has by proxy become a huge fan of them also.
There is not an ounce of baby left in this little boy anymore. He follows instructions so well, (well as great as a toddler can) and loves to help me around the house. Whether it's throwing out his diapers (I'm not going to fight him on that one), dusting the furniture or putting food in Cisco's bowl he is right there doing it all with me. I look at it as he will be well trained to help me when the baby comes along. His language is exploding and I can't wait until he is putting together little sentences.
People weren't lying when they told us once he starts walking he wont stop! He chooses to run over walking and is outside any change we get, which with it being March and a terrible winter hasn't been too frequent yet. We have hit up the mall playground a few times and grab lunch at the food court as a treat afterwards. We have been attending storytime and Makin Music at the library every week and he is really enjoying it. Mr. Dan (the music teacher) mesmerizes him and he gets so excited to play with the drumsticks. One of Chase's new fascinations is to watch the birds in the trees. As he eats his breakfast he watches them fly in and out of the trees and hearing him screech in excitement is just wonderful. Anytime he hears a plane or helicopter overhead he runs to the window to see if he can spot it in the sky.
Chase is doing extremely well with his helmet. We are still hoping it will get to come off sometime in May. Overall Chase is still the happy, laid back child he has always been and we are beyond blessed to be his parents. Getting to spend my every day with him and see him grow and learn the way he has is just incredible.

11 Weeks Baby P2
How far along: 11 weeks
Gender: not sure yet, my guess is still boy
Weight gain: 2lbs
Maternity clothes: Wearing maternity jeans but can still fit fine in my regular yoga pants. I did go and buy a few new maternity tops that are starting to make their way into my wardrobe
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: I seem to fall asleep fine but then wake up around 4am and toss and turn the rest of the night
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat for the first time at our checkup today. It was a good strong 132bpm, nothing beats hearing that thump thump thump.
Miss anything: Being able to eat whatever I want. I am having really bad food aversions this time, barely anything seems appetizing. My fruit craving has kicked in just like it did with Chase which makes me happy.
Movement: I felt the baby move once so far
Cravings: anything fruit related, actual fruit (especially strawberries and canned peaches), fruit ice pops etc
Queasy or sick: Still taking the Zofran once a day but feeling a little better in general
Looking forward to: Chase's 18 month check up this next week, I'm excited to see how much he has grown.

A Night in Baltimore
We took a quick trip to Baltimore this past weekend, and Mom Mom and Pop Berry came with us also! James got us rooms at the Hyatt Regency right in the Inner Harbor and it was a beautiful hotel. We were a couple of blocks from the Orioles stadium and so we had dinner at Dempsey's. The food was delish! Chase was very happy to get back to the hotel and run around their second floor lobby like a mad man. We have been working on shapes recently and he kept pointing out the circles that were in the carpet, so cute! Even though he was exhausted from not taking a nap, he had a rough night and ended up in our bed. I think the pack n play days are over :(
The main reason we decided on Baltimore, was to go to the Aquarium. Chase loves watching fish and is obsessed with his stuffed and twilight turtle so I was super excited for him to get to see live ones. As soon as Chase saw the first fish he was up and out of the stroller and didn't stop running from tank to tank until we had been through the entire place. He has never walked that much in his life. To say he was having a great time was an understatement. His favorites were the turtles & dolphins, he was mesmerized.
We were at the aquarium for about 3 hours which was the perfect amount of time for the little man. Instead of paying for over priced chicken tenders we ate outside of the aquarium at Pot Bellys, what a delish sandwich they make! Chase decided he didn't want anything to do with his grilled cheese but wanted to take bites off of my sandwich like a big boy lol.
By the end of the day I'm not sure who was more tired, Chase or I ? We all crashed last night and Chase was so happy to see his own bed again. After taking a 3 hour nap and sleeping a solid 12 hours last night, he is still tired today!!
We had such a fun weekend and Chase loved spending time with his Mom Mom and Pop Berry.

8 weeks Baby P2
How far along: 8 weeks
Gender: not sure yet, I'm going with boy though.
Weight gain: 0
Maternity clothes: Not yet but I have a feeling I will be needing them earlier than with Chase. I feel like my belly popped today
Stretch marks: No new ones
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: No issues with sleeping, I'd like more of it than I'm getting though. I do try to nap when Chase does
Best moment this week: Being able to eat a normal meal on Thursday
Miss anything: Having energy, I feel bad for Chase as we haven't left the house in a few days
Movement: Nothing as of yet, I felt Chase at 13 weeks so not too much longer
Cravings: I wouldn't call them cravings but bagels, ice pops and strawberries seem to settle my stomach
Queasy or sick: Yes! I pretty much have a shaky stomach 24/7 but the Zofran stops me from throwing up so it could be worse
Looking forward to: Our trip to the Baltimore Aquarium this weekend and getting to bed early tonight
(sorry there are is no pic but I totally spaced on the 8 week pic)

Our Valentines
Valentines Day - this holiday is celebrated in the Prendergast household but in a simple fashion; a card and a nice home cooked dinner is usually how we celebrate.
This year we did without the cards and decided to celebrate the day with a trip to the doctors! Not just any doctor though, it was our appointment to confirm our pregnancy with Baby P #2. As soon as the doctor found Baby P2 on the ultrasound both James and I saw that magical little flicker of the heartbeat immediately. A huge sense of relief washed over me knowing that Baby P2 was doing just fine and growing accordingly. On Valentines Day we were 7 weeks and 1 day along, with a due date of October 3rd 2014, the EXACT same due date I had with Chase! However, we are opting for repeat csection ( I know what to expect and recovered really well with the first) the baby will arrive on September 26th, well if it doesn't decide to come early like their brother. Our doctor did say we should celebrate Chase's birthday a little earlier in the month, just incase this one decides to make an early appearance.
James and I are thrilled we will be expanding our family and we cannot wait for Chase to be a big brother. I have no doubt he is going to love his sibling so much and will be right in there with wanting to help Mummy and Daddy out. He has recently started throwing out his own diapers and putting things away in the closet, he gets the biggest kick out of helping out. Obviously Chase is a little young to understand there is a baby on the way, but I think as my bump gets bigger we will try to help him understand what is going on.
So far I have been feeling ok. It seems I am just one of those pregnant woman that gets terrible morning sickness so as long as I have my Zofran I make it through the day just fine, though I am already having food aversions :( Bagels, ice pops and strawberries have seemed the most appetizing of foods so far. James has been a huge help (just like the first time) with watching Chase so I can go lie down or ordering in dinner a lot so I don't have to cook :)
Only 12 more weeks until we find out if it's a boy or girl! What is your guess?
